lyrics
It is mine, but it’s not me,
We’re captured in the lap of symmetry.
A gift and no sacrifice,
You’re spellbound, but baby so am I,
A tragedy in disguise.
The world must wait and make me believe,
My kingdom must come and baby it will be.
I dug graves, gave birth to myself,
Repeat the past until I learn to reign,
And you are open gates.
If its fragile then let it break,
You gotta jump right into the fire,
Give yourself to me and I won’t let go,
Our world is getting so old.
It is mine, but it’s not me,
We give, we take, we come and then we leave.
Dive in, ‘cause I know your face,
Those who claim they know and yet they crave.
And is this all we have?

Wow, so many influences… is this Metal Prog, or maybe Heavy Blues Rock? Whatever it is it’s incredible, especially the barnstorming title track which is insanely addictive (I need to hear a live Grateful Dead style 1hr improv on this), not to mention the groovalicious goodness of “Avalon!” pf22

It blows me away how King Buffalo can release so many albums that are all so insanely good. I mean, the only reason we didn’t get three albums in 2021 is because of the delays at the vinyl pressing plants, but I’ll gladly take two albums. When they’re this good, one album is more than a blessing. Kirk Gauthier
